Save Nano Banana Pro for images you are ready to publish. Do not use it for every rough draft. First use a lower-cost model to test the layout, text position, and style. Pick a direction, then use Pro for a product hero image, final ad, poster, or video keyframe. Hermes Agent organizes your material and requirements. Pro makes the image. Before publishing, a person checks the logo, small text, and price.

AT A GLANCE
ITS HERMES ROLE
First, give Hermes your product facts, brand colors, image size, and details that must not change. Hermes turns them into a short image checklist. Nano Banana Pro then makes or edits the image. This makes mistakes easier to spot.

TASK FIT
Final product hero images, complex ad creative, edits that need to keep details from a reference image, 2K or 4K assets, and scenes that need several elements to stay consistent.
Bulk drafts, simple color changes, low-risk social tests, and many variations. Start with a faster, lower-cost image model and save only the best ideas for refinement.
Small package text, prices, discounts, data charts, maps, medical content, or legal content. The model can prepare an option. It cannot confirm that these details are correct.
SKETCH FIRST, REFINE LATER
The real question is not “which model is best?” It is how to deliver an image that is ready to publish without spending too much. These three steps separate exploration cost from final-image quality.
Use a faster, lower-cost image model for several directions. At this stage, check only the composition, whether the product benefit is clear, whether there is enough empty space, and whether the ratio fits the channel. Do not chase perfect small text or package detail yet.
Let Hermes compare the drafts with the original brief. Keep one to three directions that are close to the goal. Turn each change into a clear job, such as “keep the bottle shape, change the background to light gray, and leave space for a headline on the right.”
Send only the selected brief or reference images to Nano Banana Pro. Its cost then goes toward final assets, difficult reference-image edits, and 2K or 4K delivery instead of lots of trial and error.
A HERMES WORKFLOW
This is a practical Hermes workflow example, not a result the model guarantees. The key is to separate writing the requirements, making the image, checking the image, and publishing it.
Give Hermes the product image, product benefits, brand colors, target channel ratio, forbidden elements, and any package detail that must not change.
Hermes turns your request into a short checklist: subject, scene, lighting, image ratio, where text goes, and what must not change.
Use text to image when there is no reference. Use the edit model when you have a product image or design file. Generate a small set of candidates first, not a large batch of final images.
A checking Agent compares the result with the brief for ratio, product shape, and obvious mistakes. A person confirms the logo, small text, price, and public-facing content before publishing.

TWO WORKFLOW EXAMPLES
Neither role asks Pro to do every job from the first sketch. Hermes Agent connects the inputs, selection, and review. Nano Banana Pro receives only the small number of high-value final tasks.
CASE 01 · FIGURINE DESIGNER
Maya is designing a resin figurine. She gives Hermes the character notes, front and side sketches, accessory list, approved colours, and the aspect ratio for the store hero image. Hermes turns them into one clear image brief. Nano Banana 2 makes six to eight fast composition sketches, and Maya keeps only two directions. She then gives Nano Banana Pro the selected sketch, material references, and clear instructions: keep the silhouette, accessory count, and eye shape; make the resin and fabric feel real; leave room for listing copy on the right. Hermes checks the result against the brief. Maya still approves the small details, accessories, and brand content before it goes live.
CASE 02 · ECOMMERCE OPERATOR
Nina runs creative for a skincare brand. She already has a white-background bottle photo, packaging-detail shots, and a page of product benefits. Hermes extracts the bottle proportions, package text, and brand colours that cannot change, then writes separate jobs for 1:1, 4:5, and 9:16 assets. A lower-cost image model explores background and composition. After Nina chooses a direction, Nano Banana Pro edits the original product photo using the selected draft: the bottle stays the same while the lighting and setting become campaign-ready. Hermes compares the result with the original inputs. Nina checks price, logo, ingredient text, and ratio before handing it to the media team.
NANO BANANA PRO API PRICING
That means two final image candidates cost about $0.20 through Nano Banana Pro text to image, and five cost about $0.50. Failed tasks are not charged. Its value is not that every image is cheap. Its value is using it only when rework on a final image would cost more. For reference-image editing, open the edit model page and use the live price shown there.
Use a lower-cost model to test ten compositions. Keep two directions, then create two final candidates with Nano Banana Pro. The Pro text-to-image portion is about $0.20.
Use rough drafts to confirm whether a 1:1, 4:5, or 9:16 layout can hold the title and product. Then use Pro for the higher-care version. You avoid paying premium-model cost for the wrong direction.
When you already have a product image or design file, use the reference-image editor. Upload the images, state what must stay and what may change, then check the current price on that model page before submitting.
START CALLING THE API
The link below lets a new user create an API key. Existing users can view, copy, manage, or revoke a key in the same place. The same key works for text to image and reference-image editing.
MODEL CHOICE
Start with a lower-cost image model. It is better for many drafts and first-round tests.
Choose Nano Banana Pro when the product hero, reference edit, or high-resolution delivery needs more careful control.
If you are choosing among Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2.1, Midjourney, GPT Image, or Seedream, run a small set of the same brief through each model. Compare against the delivery standard you actually need.
PROMPT STRUCTURE
Let Hermes put the image requirements into a fixed order. You will keep the important conditions when you change models, resize the output, or hand the work to someone else.
What you are selling, who should see it, and where the image will appear.
Product shape, logo, package text, brand colors, and price.
Which image defines the product, which defines the style, and which is only for inspiration.
Aspect ratio, camera, lighting, background, empty space, resolution, and the location of on-image text.
LIMITS TO PLAN FOR
Nano Banana Pro is strong at complex composition, reference-image editing, and on-image text. Small text, long paragraphs, factual infographics, character consistency, and spatial direction can still be wrong. Do not let an Agent automatically publish an image to a product page, ad account, or public channel.
FAQ
Google does not list a free API tier for Nano Banana Pro. Hermes is a pay-per-successful-task API. Check the current task price on the text-to-image or image-edit model page. Do not treat a free credit or a promotion in another app as the Hermes API price.
Nano Banana Pro is Google’s model name. Its official API ID is gemini-3-pro-image. Hermes is a third-party API service with model pages that let you submit and check image tasks. Hermes is not a Google official site.
For lots of experiments, choose a lower-cost model first. Send only a small number of tasks to Nano Banana Pro when a final image needs more careful composition, reference editing, or high-resolution delivery.
It can generate or edit a product image. It cannot guarantee that package text, prices, logos, or the product shape are correct. Put those details in the brief and have a person check them before publishing.
