Anthropic has released client updates for Claude across iOS, Android, CarPlay, iPadOS, Chromebooks, foldables, web and desktop. The release concentrates on account access, voice input, large-screen navigation and interface localization. Claude’s underlying models remain unchanged.
The mobile features are rolling out through app-store updates. Interface language support also applies to the web and desktop clients. Pull-down search for iPhone and iPad remains in preview.
One app, several accounts
Claude now supports multiple active accounts on iOS and Android. Users can switch between personal accounts and work or Team seats without repeatedly signing out and authenticating again.
Claude reaches CarPlay
Voice mode on iPhone now integrates with Apple CarPlay, allowing spoken conversations after the Claude app has been opened from the vehicle’s CarPlay screen. Apple enabled third-party chatbot apps in CarPlay with iOS 26.4. Participating apps must use Apple’s approved interface template, provide a voice-control screen and receive a CarPlay entitlement, which is Apple’s permission to expose app functions in the vehicle interface.
Claude can answer spoken questions through CarPlay but cannot operate vehicle controls or iPhone functions. Third-party wake words are unavailable, so users must launch Claude manually. Once open, the app offers a new conversation or recent chats, along with controls for muting and ending the session. Visual indicators show when Claude is listening or speaking.
The integration puts Claude alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok and Meta AI among chatbot apps available through CarPlay.
Voice mode handles more noise
Anthropic has reduced response latency and tuned speech recognition for quiet voices and noisy environments on iOS and Android. Synthesized responses should also sound more natural in languages other than English, while Android compatibility now covers a broader range of phones.
The changes build on earlier voice releases that added languages including German, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Ukrainian. A push-to-talk option remains available when background noise makes automatic turn detection unreliable.
Large screens get side-by-side work
On iPad, and on iPhone when using Duo mode, artifacts now open beside the conversation and can expand to full screen. Artifacts are Claude-generated outputs such as code, documents and diagrams. Keeping them in a separate pane preserves the chat context while matching the split-view workflow available on desktop.
The Android app also gains a laptop-style layout on Chromebooks and foldables, including:
- A resizable navigation sidebar
- Trackpad and right-click support
- The same keyboard shortcuts as Claude Desktop
These controls give larger Android devices adjustable navigation and desktop input support, replacing the fixed layout inherited from phone-sized screens.
Menus expand to 33 languages
Claude’s interface now supports 33 languages across web, desktop, iOS and Android. The 24 additions include Bengali, Danish, Swahili, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
The setting localizes menus, preferences and system text throughout the client. The language Claude uses in its responses remains controlled separately through the conversation.
Pull-down search comes next
Anthropic has previewed a pull-down search gesture for iPhone and iPad. It will search previous conversations and projects, open settings and provide available actions for chats directly from the results. Anthropic has not announced a release date.
Update now, search later
The release improves Claude’s fit across mixed device fleets and multilingual teams. Account switching reduces repeated authentication on devices used for work and personal access. Chromebook and foldable support adds keyboard and pointer workflows, while side-by-side artifacts keep generated material visible beside its source conversation. CarPlay extends voice access while keeping phone and vehicle controls outside Claude’s scope.
Anthropic says the updates apply to existing plans without pricing changes. Users can install the latest mobile release through the Claude download page . Pull-down search will require a later update.
