Takeaways

  • Nous Research launched the Hermes Marketplace , unifying plugins, skills, and connectors in one storefront.
  • Catalog now lists 976 plugins across Official (213), Verified (9), and Community (1,465) trust tiers.
  • Features 54 hosted connectors with single-OAuth sign-in for Slack, Notion, Linear, Jira, Stripe, Vercel, Sentry, and more.
  • One-click install via deep links into Hermes Desktop or hermes plugins install from the CLI.
  • Notable plugins include Claude Subscription routing, Memory Wiki, Blender MCP, Phone Harness, and Solana Pay for x402 APIs.
  • Every listing ships with disclosure text spelling out credentials, ports, and code execution scope.

Nous Research has launched the Hermes Marketplace , a searchable storefront for Hermes Agent plugins, connectors, and skills. It centralizes packages that previously required separate GitHub searches, installation commands, and configuration edits, giving developers desktop deep links and consistent CLI commands.

Before the marketplace, Hermes shipped with 82 built-in skills, offered another 117 through an optional catalog, and drew on more than 169 community skills, plugins, agent profiles, memory providers, messaging surfaces, and tools spread across repositories. The new catalog organizes that ecosystem while leaving the underlying source repositories available for inspection.

The storefront’s figures describe different slices of the ecosystem. Its 976-plugin total covers plugins, while the trust filters count entries across plugins and skills. Those filter totals therefore should not be compared directly with the plugin count.

Three ways to extend Hermes

The catalog separates extensions by how they change the agent:

  • Plugins add capabilities such as model providers, tools, memory systems, interface panels, and integrations with local software.
  • Skills package reusable instructions and workflows that Hermes can invoke while completing tasks.
  • Connectors provide hosted access to external services through browser-based OAuth authorization, without requiring a local server installation.

The 54 connectors cover services including Slack, Notion, Linear, Jira, Airtable, Stripe, Vercel, and Sentry. Users authorize each service through the Nous portal instead of installing and configuring a local Model Context Protocol server. MCP is a standard that exposes tools and data to AI agents through a common interface.

From Claude to Blender

  • Claude Subscription is an experimental model provider that routes Hermes requests through the Claude Code CLI using an existing Claude Pro or Max subscription. It requires no separate API key or usage-based API account.
  • Memory Wiki adds a dashboard with browsable subject pages and daily logs generated from local session history. It also includes a read-only audit panel for persistent memory files.
  • Blender and TouchDesigner expose live creative sessions through MCP servers, allowing Hermes to operate 3D and visual-programming tools on the local machine.
  • Phone Harness provides a single phone_exec tool for controlling a physical or cloud-hosted phone. It supports iPhone Mirroring on macOS, Android Debug Bridge, commonly called ADB, and cloud phone environments.
  • pay , published by the Solana Foundation, discovers priced APIs and pays for requests with stablecoins when a service returns an HTTP 402 Payment Required response. It uses a hosted MCP server and OAuth sign-in, with no local wallet requirement.

Two install paths, one caveat

Each installable package listing provides a deep link that opens Hermes Desktop and a CLI command that follows the same pattern across the catalog:

Packages labeled portable are disabled by default during installation. The CLI asks whether to enable the package and selects No by default. Accepting that default requires a follow-up command:

Packages installed directly from GitHub trigger an unreviewed-source warning. Marketplace listings provide trust labels and standardized disclosures, giving developers more provenance and permission information before installation.

Connectors follow a separate hosted flow. Selecting one opens the Nous portal, where OAuth grants Hermes access to the associated service without a local MCP installation.

Trust tiers expose provenance

Nous assigns every catalog entry one of three labels. Official extensions are maintained by Nous Research, Verified extensions come from designated partners such as the Solana Foundation, and Community extensions cover third-party projects ranging from ESP32 voice devices to private mesh VPN daemons.

Listing disclosures describe the code or commands an extension executes, where it stores credentials, and which network ports it opens. These details matter for integrations with broad local access. The Blender plugin, for example, can execute Python inside an active 3D application, while phone-control plugins can issue commands to connected devices.

Trust labels communicate provenance and maintenance status. Developers still need to assess permissions, inspect source code where available, and isolate extensions that can execute arbitrary code or access sensitive credentials.

Why the marketplace fits Hermes

Hermes runs in a terminal, a desktop application, and messaging services including Discord, Slack, and Telegram. It can also turn experience into reusable skills, retain selected information across sessions, and acquire new tools through extensions.

That architecture makes extension discovery part of the core developer workflow. A searchable catalog with standardized commands, trust filters, star counts, and security disclosures shortens the path from finding a capability to evaluating and installing it.

Price, source, and availability

The marketplace is live at hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/marketplace . Browsing the catalog and installing its packages are free, although individual extensions can introduce separate charges.

  • Claude Subscription uses an existing Claude Pro or Max plan.
  • The pay plugin spends stablecoins for each priced API request.
  • Connectors inherit the subscription and usage costs of services such as Slack, Notion, Stripe, and Vercel.

Hermes Agent remains open source under the MIT license. Nous also publishes the official plugin repository on GitHub, allowing developers to inspect the source before installation.
